A better sock for life inside braces
BraceLiner is a slim, knee-high interface sock designed to sit between the skin and an AFO (ankle-foot-orthosis), helping make brace wear more comfortable through the day.
Reduces friction and rubbing at pressure points
Wicks moisture and manages heat throughout the day
Stays in position — no bunching, no slipping, no added bulk
Your socks weren't designed for orthotics.
Too short for braces
Limited protection around bony prominences.
Braces trap heat and moisture.
Excessive bulk
Too bulky for braces
BraceLiner AFO Socks - Designed for brace users
Less rubbing through the day
Extra cushioning is placed where braces commonly create pressure and irritation.
So there is less checking for red marks, less discomfort, and a smoother brace day.
Cooler, drier brace wear
A breathable knit helps reduce the hot, clammy feeling that can build up inside braces.
So school days, work days, and long brace-wearing days feel easier to get through.
Easier fit inside braces and shoes
BraceLiner is designed to sit smoothly between the skin, brace, and shoe without unnecessary thickness.
So there is less bunching, less fiddling, and an easier fit in the morning.
For parents of children who wear AFOs
For school days, busy mornings, and children who struggle with rubbing, heat, or sock bunching inside their braces.
For long days in AFOs where normal socks feel too hot, too bulky, or uncomfortable by the end of the day.
For orthotists, physiotherapists, and rehab teams who regularly see patients struggling with brace comfort and tolerance
BraceLiner was developed by Jack Choong, a UK orthotist with experience working with children and adults who wear lower-limb orthoses.
Through clinical work and training at leading UK hospitals, including University College London Hospitals and Great Ormond Street Hospital, Jack saw how carefully designed braces can support mobility and independence, but also how often the sock layer is overlooked.
Many brace users are left relying on ordinary socks, cotton school socks, or trial and error to manage rubbing, heat, sweat, and irritation.
BraceLiner was created to solve that overlooked interface problem: the layer between skin and brace.
